All Ellis Group site staff and management are CRB checked to allow them to work in areas where vulnerable groups may be.

Environmental Issues
Ellis Group have signed up to the Recoflooring Scheme for recycling off cuts and stripped flooring in a bid to alleviate the impact the flooring division has on the local and global environment. We are investigating ways in which to dispose of other waste in a similarly environmental friendly manner. This is something we also look to our subcontractors to do.

Ellis Group is also promoting car/van sharing among its employees and looking to reduce the carbon footprint of the company fleet of vehicles through careful selection of vehicle based upon expected usage, CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.

August 09 Ellis Group Infection Control for Primary Care Trusts
Over the past 8 months Ellis Group have been working with various Primary Care Trusts to bring GP surgeries and Childrens Centre in line with the Government regulations regarding infection control. The outbreak of Swine Flu made such work vital and immediately required. Ellis Group were able to meet the tight timeframes set whilst maintaining the highest quality. All works were carried out within permanently occupied premises and with minimal disruption to the surgeries. This work is ongoing and we look forward to continuing our relationship with the Trusts.

With over 600 restaurants now open in the UK, Ellis Group are pleased to be working in partnership with Pizza Hut UK.

February 07 New look for Ellis Group
For the last twelve years Ellis Building Maintenance has been providing reactive maintenance and property services in the commercial sector, operating predominately in the hospitality market.

Geoff Ellis, the Managing Director, has twenty-five years experience in the property maintenance industry. During those years Geoff has worked his way through the ranks as a paid operative, a subcontractor and now he is an employer of twelve full time permanent skilled operatives.

“The team are at the core of our success”, explains Geoff, “the company prides itself on being efficient, prompt and reliable. Our business is built upon service, trust and reliability - qualities that could not be delivered without such a highly motivated and dedicated team.”

Not content to sit back and enjoy their success the company is undergoing a period of transformation and investment in the future.

They have recently relocated, moving from Great Yeldham in Essex, to take two new units on the Churchfield Road Industrial Estate in Sudbury. The company has changed its financial structure from Ellis Building Maintenance Ltd to Ellis Group Ltd, a holding company with two divisions – Building and Flooring. A new corporate identity and the commissioning of a marketing project further demonstrate the commitment to business growth and development.

Geoff comments, “It was really time to stand up and be counted. We could have carried on happily as we were but the company is capable of so much more so we decided to take the next steps. Our new units allow us to have a showroom where clients can visit to look in comfort at the different types of safety flooring we can supply and install. Whether you require durability, hygiene, decorative and practical, low maintenance, fast application/fast drying – we can provide a tailored solution from the wide range of safety flooring products supplied by the major manufacturers.

There is a huge potential to develop the safety flooring business. Employers and those responsible for specifying flooring in public places have a legal obligation to ensure that the floor is fit for purpose. With our current client portfolio we are well placed to take advantage of that opportunity but we are also aware of new markets that require targeting. Ellis Building will continue to deliver reactive building services to our existing blue chips clients but will be looking to build upon our reputation and develop in this area too.”

The new corporate identity, created by The Design Office, a creative agency specialising in brand development, reflects the values of the Ellis Group Ltd - bright, fresh and bold. The strapline “leading by example” serves as a constant reminder to the company of the standards they have already set in the reactive building sector and the need to maintain and exceed those standards in the future.

Geoff has the final word, “The experience you can expect to receive from Ellis Group will be different to other contractors. The level of care, the attention to detail in the service you receive, the way the work is completed and the fact that the work is always completed are what sets us apart.
